Modeling representation

Most modeling representation optimises for the next booking. We manage the arc: what you take, what you decline, and how a run of work becomes a career that outlasts any one look.

The long game

A booking that pays today can cost you the category you were building toward. The judgement about which work compounds and which work merely pays is the part representation should be adding, and the part most often skipped.

That means saying no on your behalf, sometimes to money, and being able to explain why.

What representation covers

  • Booking strategy. Which work builds toward where you want to be in three years.
  • Professional conduct. On-set expectations, reliability, and the reputation that decides re-bookings.
  • Rate and terms. Negotiated for you, with usage and licensing understood before you sign.
  • Career planning. Including what comes after modeling, which arrives sooner than most people plan for.

Straight answers

Questions people ask about modeling representation.

How do I get signed by a modeling agency?

Agencies sign people they can place, so the question is which market you fit rather than whether you are attractive enough. Commercial, fitness, print and runway all want different things, and being clear about your category is worth more than a broad portfolio.

Do I need a professional portfolio first?

Not to start a conversation. Clean, honest digitals showing what you actually look like matter more than an expensive shoot, and any agency asking you to pay for a portfolio before representing you is selling photography rather than representation.

Is modeling a viable long-term career?

It is viable if it is managed as one, which means planning for the transition out of it from the beginning. The models who do well financially treat the booking years as the funding stage for whatever comes next.
